Operations Management Session on Process Excellence Held at Garden City University
The School of Commerce and Management, Department of Management Studies, Garden City University, organized an academic session titled “Operations Management for Process Excellence – Lean, Constraints, and Six Sigma in Action” on 5 February 2026 for First Semester MBA students in Room No. 22. The session focused on contemporary operations management frameworks that drive efficiency, quality, and competitiveness in modern organizations.
The session was delivered by Dr. M. Selvadass, Head, Department of Fashion and Apparel Design, who brought rich industry experience and practical insights into classroom learning. He explained the principles of Lean Management, Theory of Constraints, and Six Sigma, emphasizing waste elimination, process flow optimization, and data-driven quality improvement. Real-world case studies were used to demonstrate how organizations successfully apply these frameworks to enhance operational performance. Students actively engaged in discussions, gaining clarity on aligning operational strategies with organizational goals. The session strengthened analytical thinking and reinforced the relevance of process excellence in manufacturing and service sectors.
