The Department of Hospitality Management and Catering Technology at Garden City University organized a practical training session titled “Art of Towel Folding” on 11 March 2026 at the Housekeeping Lab. The session was conducted by Ajoy Paramanik and Prity Soreng to introduce students to the creative and aesthetic aspects of housekeeping in the hospitality industry.
The trainers explained the significance of decorative towel arrangements in enhancing the visual appeal of hotel rooms and creating memorable guest experiences. Students were introduced to different types of towels used in hotels and the standard presentation techniques followed in guest rooms.
During the demonstration, various towel-folding designs, including animal shapes and elegant decorative arrangements commonly seen in luxury hotels and resorts, were showcased. Students actively participated in practicing these techniques, gaining hands-on experience while developing creativity, precision, and attention to detail—essential skills for professional housekeeping operations.
