Garden City University IQAC Organizes Climate Change Lecture for UG and PG Students

Garden City University, through its Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a guest lecture on climate change on 6 February 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the GCU Auditorium. The programme was attended by Undergraduate and Postgraduate students from various disciplines, reflecting the institution’s interdisciplinary approach to sustainability education.

The session was delivered by Dr. Saji Baby, Director, Centre for Excellence in Sustainability, Environment and Climate Change, MIT World Peace University. Dr. Baby explained climate system dynamics, greenhouse gas emissions, and the scientific mechanisms driving global warming. He also highlighted the environmental, economic, and social impacts of climate change, with reference to global and Indian contexts.

The lecture helped students understand the urgency of climate action and the role of education in addressing sustainability challenges. The programme aligned with global priorities such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly climate action and environmental protection. The session enhanced students’ environmental literacy and encouraged responsible citizenship.
